Amabie Will Save Us!

Sorry, I know it's been a few days, but losing Bill Withers really bummed me out.

Unfortunately, we are still in this fresh hell of coronavirus, which seems to have no end. On top of that, it's raining here, as if our collective sadness has manifested itself. But there is hope! Atlas Obscura brought to my attention the mystical Amabie, a spirit from Japanese folklore associated with refuge from epidemics. This half-merperson, half-bird obviously knows something we don't, and I'm willing to believe anything EXCEPT things shared on Nextdoor.

Here's a very old image of Amabie found in the public domain, dating back to 1846. There are lots of colorful new interpretations as well crafty version so you can make your own. But I don't have rights to those images, and I know enough about Copyright and not enough about Fair Use, to know that I don't want to be THAT person.
